Tips on Vinyl Flooring with Arcfloor

TOP 5 DECOR ITEMS FROM DAISO (2).png

These days, everyone is opting for vinyl flooring as an inexpensive and quick way to dress up their floors. I had the amazing opportunity of working with Arcfloor and I love their flooring range because the colours are natural and they always help me get the perfect matching skirting (which is a struggle I find with other vinyl flooring companies). In this week’s video, I sat down with Sheryl and Rachel from Arcfloor to understand more about vinyl flooring and to learn how you can protect them.

Here are some of the benefits of using vinyl flooring:

  • Waterproof. Waterproof vinyl planks can be used anywhere, but they're especially ideal for rooms like living room, bedrooms and kitchen (if you do not do heavy washing)

  • Realistic visuals of real wood

  • Easy to clean & maintain

  • Extremely durable

  • Ample variety (these days you see them in herringbone, chevron and patten designs)

  • Not as hard as tiles and there are no grout lines

Vinyl flooring is durable and stands up well to heavy foot traffic. It is comfortable under foot and reduces noise, which can be important for owners with kids or pets. It is also less expensive than many other flooring options and is easy to install and maintain.

For Home 33, I worked with Sheryl from Arcfloor and used three star products they carry.

1. Vinyl flooring done in herringbone , we used 150 x 900mm pearl oak for the living and kitchen. Do take note that herringbone vinyl is suitable for doing straight lay as well but not the other way round. The straight lay we used in the casual living room is 150 x 900mm pearl oak. For the master bedroom suite, we used 220 x 1210mm svart black vinyl and done it in a straight lay.

2. Timber works to fix, sand down and varnish the existing timber floor, stairs and handrail giving it a new coat of colour. We also added a feature timber ceiling panel to bring the attention to the high ceiling (check out the video!). We used timber Burmese teak done in natural water-based clear coat for the ceiling panel and revarnished the existing flooring from reddish wood parquet to a natural gorgeous clear stain.

3.Solar Coating was applied to all the doors and windows of the home to protect the floor and to keep the space cool and protected from UV rays

Another thing most people, including myself do not realise is the importance of protecting our floors. The harsh and bright sun rays can cause the vinyl or hardwood flooring colour to change through the years. By using solar coating on your windows, it helps to keep UV rays out of sight and is healthy for your family and provides protection for the floors.

Arcfloor uses an eco- friendly and certified liquid solar coating known as kristalbond from Japan. The sol-gel and nano technologies originated from Japan and is patented in 16 countries. It does not contain any plastic, metal or adhesive solar coating which means there is no VOC and it is safe for everyone at home. The protection covers up to 100% UV cut and 90% IR cut and helps to keep the home cool with 64% heat reduction. It comes with 15 years warranty on no bubbling, peeling and shrinking. Last point which I find really useful is that it is resistance to scratches and super easy to maintain with regular window cleaning.

I hope you found the tips and product code helpful in finding your perfect shade of vinyl for your new place. Special thanks to Rachel and Sheryl for being my guests in this video. Please note this is not a sponsored post. I personally love their products and their attentive service to details.
